The village of Walton lies 3.5 miles south east of Wakefield between the Doncaster and Barnsley roads and is the Parish of Sandal Magna.
Walton has a long history and can boast of a variety of old buildings and some interesting and well-known residents. Perhaps the most famous was Squire Waterton of Walton Hall the renowned explorer and naturalist.
